August 30 - Ezekiel 34:1-36:38
Good morning everyone,
Today we begin with God, through Ezekiel, calling out all the shepherds, which would refer to the leaders, for taking care of themselves rather than taking care of the people. He named their sins, pronounced there judgement they would receive. Prophetically, this speaks to anyone and everyone who teaches God’s Word today, there is an accountability above others for accuracy in what they’re teaching and selfless behavior. However knowing we do not have a perfect track record, God promises to take over as shepherd for his scattered flock. How comforting is that?! When parents, teachers, leaders even pastors fail us we have the promise of a God who agape loves us to always be there, He is always in control. Right?
In chapter 36 we read of God’s promise to restore a broken, scattered Israel to a healthy, thriving nation. “ I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor” says the Lord. Israel, for way too many years, had try to make a go of life in their own strength and they failed miserably. There was a consequence of choice to live through but God didn’t just write them off. No way! He was there for them but not only that, things were going to be so much better than before. Philippians 2:13 says, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” God is there for you too. Have you blown it, tried to live in your own strength and failed? The whole world seems to be crashing down on top of you? Well, fear not God still can and He will use you to do amazing things if you would but let Him. 2 Peter 3:18 encourages us in to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
Amen!
Have a great day and to God be the glory!
God bless you all …
